2020 Emy Award Honoree Roy Green
Roy Green embodies the character and qualities of an outstanding community volunteer whose commitment and passion to help those less fortunate has set the bar high for others to follow.
Roy arrived in League City in 1996. Getting involved and giving back to the community in which you live and work is something Roy truly believes in, and he certainly has gotten involved! Roy has served on many not-for-profit boards, building lasting relationships and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. He currently serves on the Clear Creek Education Foundation as well as the United Way Galveston Mainland Board. Since 2007, Roy has given his time and talents to support Devereux Texas. Serving in many capacities on the Devereux Texas Advisory Board including Chairman in 2013 – 2014. We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service to our organization and the individuals we serve.
Roy has been at South Shore Harbour Resort for 24 years, serving as General Manager since 2001. Beginning his career in the hospitality industry at a young age, Roy learned that working hard and giving back to the community expands his passion for life and service to others.
When not working, Roy & Nick, who celebrate their 33rd anniversary this year, enjoy travel and spending time with family. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas where his parents still live. Roy is a proud graduate of Texas A&M and the Corps of Cadets.
